The Night Agent (Netflix) Is Back For Season 2

The Night Agent was renewed for a second season less than a week after it premiered. The political drama has quickly become one of Netflix’s most-watched shows.

The first season ends with Peter boarding a plane and leaving, so it’s likely that the second season will take him to new places.

Peter Sutherland

After thwarting the metro bombing and other threats, Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) is reassigned to a windowless basement office where he monitors an emergency phone line. When down-on-her-luck tech CEO Rose Larkin calls, Peter tries to protect her from two assassins and untangle a dark conspiracy.

The show’s stars, including Luciane Buchanan as Rose, Fola Evans-Akingbola as Chelsea and Phoenix Rael as Dale, have all been renewed for season 2. Shawn Ryan told Tudum that he has “some initial ideas” for the second season of the hit Netflix series.

Rose Larkin

The first season of The Night Agent ended with a bang. Peter Sutherland saved a slew of people when he exposed President Travers (Christopher Shyer), shady government contractor Gordon Wick, and White House Chief of Staff Diane Farr’s involvement in the metro bombing. He even got a promotion.

Gabriel Basso and Luciane Buchanan are set to return for season 2. The show was just renewed, so the new episodes should air in 2024.

Ashley Redfield

After a successful premiere, The Night Agent quickly received a Season 2 renewal from Netflix. The adaptation of Matthew Quirk’s novel centers on FBI agent Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) whose night action call leads him to uncover a dangerous mole in the White House.

Showrunner Shawn Ryan spoke to Tudum about the possibility of a second season, saying, “We certainly have some initial ideas.” At the end of the first season, Peter jetted off overseas for his new field job, so the next season could take him literally anywhere.

Chelsea Arrington

The second season was a no-brainer for Netflix. Less than a week after it debuted, the streamer announced that it would be back for another 10 episodes.

Fola Evans-Akingbola reprises her role as Secret Service agent Chelsea Arrington, who is in charge of Maddie’s security detail. She’s paired with Erik Monks. The pair are tasked with protecting Maddie as she attends Georgetown University.

With the first season ending on a wistful romantic note, it will be interesting to see how Maddie Redfield gets back together with Peter Sutherland in the second season. Other actors expected to return include Gabriel Basso, Luciane Buchanan, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Sarah Desjardins, Eve Harlow, Phoenix Raei and D.B. Woodside.

The show is a drama about a low-level FBI agent who works in the White House basement manning a phone that never rings, and gets pulled into a fast-moving conspiracy.

Diane Farr

After a record-breaking premiere week, the first season of The Night Agent became one of Netflix’s most popular English-language shows. The thriller was adapted from Matthew Quirk’s book about low-level FBI agents investigating a harmful mole in the top ranks of national security.

Farr is known for her roles as FBI agent Megan Reeves in NUMB3RS and firefighter Laura Miles on Rescue Me. She is set to appear in an upcoming film called The Family Jewels.

Erik Monks

The second season of the series will continue to follow Peter Sutherland as he tries to uncover a massive political conspiracy. The showrunner Shawn Ryan has promised that the new episodes will offer fresh storylines and exciting new locations.

The cast also includes Gabriel Basso, Luciane Buchanan, Hong Chau, Sarah Desjardins, Fola Evans-Akingbola, and Phoenix Raei. The series is created and executively produced by Shawn Ryan.

Peter’s first mission as a Night Agent got him in more trouble than he bargained for. And with former chief of staff Diane Farr alive and nefarious mogul Gordon Wick still slithering around, we expect the drama to keep up the pace for season 2.

Showrunner Shawn Ryan revealed that while the first season lifted Matthew Quirk’s novel, there is no more material to adapt for future seasons. This means that production for season two will probably start once the actors and writers’ strikes end.

Dale Campbell

The first season of The Night Agent ended with a lot of questions unanswered. But the second season will hopefully explore these mysteries further and take us on an even more exhilarating ride of political intrigue and personal dilemmas.

Unfortunately, the production of season 2 has been put on hold due to the WGA strike. But creator Shawn Ryan has been posting updates from the picket line!

After the premiere of The Night Agent, fans are clamoring for more. Fortunately, the showrunner Shawn Ryan seems to have some good news for them.

It’s been less than a week since the series premiered, but Netflix has already renewed it for season 2. That’s one of the fastest renewals we’ve seen for a new Netflix original.

The political thriller starring Gabriel Basso is an adaptation of Matthew Quirk’s book. It also stars Luciane Buchanan, Kari Matchett, Fola Evans-Akingbola, and Hong Chau.
